A Storied Tradition

For 34 years, golfers from all parts of the Valley have been gathering for one of the largest charity golf events in Northern California. The Catholic Charities golf tournament features exhilarating play, a gourmet lunch, and a lively hosted post-tournament happy hour. Become part of the tradition that has raised millions of dollars to support the Catholic Charities community-based programs that fight the cycle of poverty right here in Santa Clara County.

The Course

Almaden Golf and Country Club is a prestigious newly renovated club located in the beautiful Almaden Valley of San Jose. The Club boasts an 18-Hole championship golf course, clubhouse, tennis courts, swimming pavilion, and pro shop. Diverse business, ethnic backgrounds and age groups represent our membership. Nestled in the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains in Silicon Valley adjacent to the Quicksilver County Park, the environment is comfortable and secluded.

Almaden Golf and Country Club        Newly Remodeled Club House

Almaden Country Club today is acclaimed for its terrific golf course that has hosted many PGA and LPGA tournaments throughout its more than 47 year history. Today, it is know as a wholesome family club that provides varied and engaging activities for both adults and children. Although it began as a close knit neighborhood public course in the mid-fifties, over the years it has been transformed into the premier proprietary golf course in Santa Clara County. Its advantages are many, including an outstanding course layout and large driving range for all players’ skill levels.

The Beneficiaries

The funds raised at the annual golf tournament help support nearly 40 programs Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County provides to almost 40,000 individuals and families of all cultures and beliefs struggling to overcome poverty. These programs help move people from poverty to self-sufficiency by providing housing, education, employment, and older adult and behavioral health services for the poor and marginalized here in our community.
